Air-O-Swiss Air Purifier Reviewed by Dr. Donnelly

- Excellent
Positives:
Quality
Manufacturing - Another product from Switzerland is our newest addition
here at BreathePureAir.com and once again, we are impressed with the fit
and finish. But it's not all about style, this is an excellent choice for
a room air purifier for people who suffer from mild allergies and asthma or people who just want to breathe really clean
air.
Model 2071
includes Built-in
Humidifier - Features and anti-bacterial evaporator cartridge and two
refillable water tanks. Designed to provide optimum relative humidity for
rooms up to 500 square feet. This is the best combination unit on the
market.
Highly
Efficient - Air-O-Swiss designed this system to capture small particles,
which it does well. The performance of this machine rivals units costing
nearly twice as much. The efficiency is a direct result of good
engineering.
Quiet - One of
the quietest filtration units on the market. The nighttime mode is so
quiet you can only tell it's on because of the indicator light, but it
still provides good room air cleaning. The high setting is much quieter
than competing units.
Cost Effective
- The filters in this air purifier last for about a year and filter
replacement costs are much cheaper than most other units. The national
average for electricity in 2003 was 8.7 cents per KWh, running this unit
24 hours a day all month only costs about $2.50, about the same as running a
40
watt light bulb!
Negatives:
I always try
to find something about a unit that I don't like and share it with our
visitors, this time, as with the IQAir Air
Cleaners, I am having a hard time finding anything I don't like. The
Air-O-Swiss does not have an extremely large coverage area but like all
room air cleaners, they are designed to clean and circulate air in a room,
this unit a great for bedrooms of all sizes and most living rooms.
Bells and
Whistles - The Air-O-Swiss does not have a remote control and is not programmable
like some other high-end air purifiers have, but it does cost several
hundred dollars less. The aroma dispersion system is a nice touch and may have
more practical uses than a remote, for most people anyway.
Summary:
Over the past few
months, some of our customers called our toll free number and
asked what we though about the Air-O-Swiss. We promised to
research and review the Air-O-Swiss units and let them know what
we thought. I have to say, everyone on the BreathePureAir.com
staff is impressed, I don't know how or why we over-looked them
for so long. Thanks for bringing it to our attention. :) If
you are looking for an air purifier to cover a small to medium
size bedroom or office and you don't have a chemical or odor
problem, anything more than this is overkill. The Air-O-Swiss
features excellent performance, quiet operation, low
maintenance and economical filter costs and built in humidifier!
