We carry the complete line of Airpura replacement filters. These filters are made of the best materials available and were designed to provide long life and hassle free maintenance.

Airpura air purifiers are designed to be able to interchange some filters between models, to upgrade a standard machine to a deluxe model, simply  the Superblend filter of the same size.

Airpura Filter Technology
is one of several aspects about these air purifiers that makes the indoor air quality geeks here at BPA raise eyebrows, smile and say "oh wow".  Knowing the engineer in charge and the products from the company where he formerly directed, we are pleased to see the design and production improvements that make Airpura products the highest quality residential air purifiers we have seen on the market.
 

Cartridge Filters
are the most efficient known design for industrial media filters today.  Airpura home air purifiers us the same technology.  The filter is shaped like a cylinder.  Woven filter material makes up the curved wall of the tube.  The top and bottom are open.  When placed into the purifier, the bottom hole is closed off, and the top hole is open to the impellor.  Air is pulled through the sides and out the top.  Instead of using one flat filter, the surface area is increased greatly by using a cylindrical filter with air filtering through a full 360 degree curved wall.  In addition to wrapping the filter around a tube, the walls are corrugated to further increase surface area and make it better at catching particles.  In Airpura filters, HEPA material is folded over and back 10 times within every inch.  If you were to stretch out the entire filter area into a flat shape, you would have about a 1 ft x 40 ft rectangle.  40 square feet of HEPA material is what makes the Airpura air cleaner able to last so long between filter replacements.

The Allergy Arrestor Deluxe and Allergy Arrestor Deluxe UV have double the surface area, 80 square feet of HEPA filtration.
 

HEPA stands for High Efficiency Particle Absorbing or High Efficiency Particulate Air.  The first HEPA filter was created in the 1940s for the Manhattan Project to trap tiny airborne radioactive particles and prevent them from spreading.  It became trademarked and commercialized in the 1950s.  Since then, HEPA became a generic term for any filter that is tested to the exact standards which include the ability to arrest 99.97% of particles 0.3 microns or larger.  The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) continues to publicly publish standards regulating testing and performance for HEPA filters used in its facilities.
