Criterion Tool & Die, Inc. solves coolant mist
problem!
The Problem
Criterion Tool & Die, Inc. manufactures parts
for the medical industry such as bone screws, skin grafting tools and
medical Instruments. In January of 2000 they made the decision that they
needed to maintain a higher air quality, not only for their customers, but
primarily to create a better work environment for their employees.
The Solution
Air Quality Engineering was called in to help
solve the problem. The MistBuster 500 uses several layers of mist
impingement to knock out the heaviest contaminants, followed by the
electronic section for filtering atomized mist and smoke. The key to the
system is the infinitely variable speed, so you can adjust the air volume to
the perfect setting for your machine. Criterion purchased 13 of the units
for their shop.
“Before we bought these units
the operators used to complain about mist in their face…Now they don’t”,
Dave L., Plant Manager, Criterion.

The Results
Two years after the installation, Criterion has grown to count on the
MistBuster 500. The operators don’t complain about mist in their face, there
is virtually no oil on the walls or ceiling, and the overall environment is
cleaner. Best of all, there are no replacement filters to purchase.
Criterion simply washes the filter components on a quarterly basis. “The MistBuster has made a big difference in our plant,” Dave
L., Plant
Manager of Criterion.
“The MistBusters have created
a better working environment in our shop”, Dave L.
