How The SmokeMaster X-11Q Smoke Eater Works

Contaminant particles such as those in tobacco smoke receive an electrical charge as they pass into the electronic cell and are then attracted to oppositely charged collector plates, where they are trapped... similar to the way that metal shavings collect to a magnet.  The air vent provides dilution control of gaseous contaminants.  Standard activated carbon filters absorbs odors and gasses to further freshen the air.

Positive Qualities:

• Flush mounts or installs in drop ceilings, one of the nicest looking flush mount units we've seen!

• COANDA Airflow pattern is perfect for rising airborne contaminates, such as smoke and fumes.

• Washable electronic filter and pre-filter means long term savings over units requiring annual or semi-annual filter replacements that can cost thousands of dollars over a 5-6 year period.

• It's surprisingly quiet considering the rather large coverage are.

• The Smokemaster X-11Q electronic smoke eater will filter out small airborne particles comparable to HEPA based smoke eaters. This smoke eater efficiently filters particles as small as .01 microns.

• The Smokemaster X-11Q electronic smoke eater is extremely energy efficient and uses 35% less electricity than HEPA media based air cleaners.

Negative Qualities:

• This is an electronic smoke eater, therefore, you have to discipline yourself to remember to periodically clean the aluminum pre-filters and cells.  You also have to remember to change the carbon filters 1-2x's a year depending on the level of air pollution in your indoor environment. Spraying the cells with the cell coat from the wash kit really helps prolong the life of the electronic cells, which should last for several years with regular cleaning.
