Industrial Scientific Corporation TMX412's internal software offers no conformity standards.  Tetra comes equipped with internal software that conforms to IEC 61508, guaranteeing software that provides functional safety.

TMX412 offers data logging only as an expensive option requiring additional expense for a PC software/cable kit.  Tetra features a PC interface by IR link to portable PC software.  This allows for easy access for configuration changes and event log transfer via a physically sealed light, as opposed to a hole where a plug fits.  Tetra also allows printing of formatted configuration reports and calibration certificates.

ISC TMX412 is available only with a  Diffusion/Hand Aspirator requiring a separate pump that needs its own power, adding bulk, weight and extra cost.  Tetra offers a pumped version that is less expensive and better suited for applications requiring regular sampling.

Industrial Scientific TMX412 lasts for 10 hours on full charge and uses dated Nicad battery technology.  Tetra offers at least 12 hours of power on full charge with Li-ion batteries, making it better suited for shift changes.
