Jet Dust Collectors

Tired of sweeping? (Cough! Cough!)

Do you ever find yourself interrupting your workday to sweep the mounting piles of sawdust in your workshop?  Do you find yourself coughing more than usual and  having difficulty breathing while woodworking?  What about long term health effects of breathing small dust particles?  Jet dust collectors are available from background ambient, fixed location to source capture Jet dust collectors on wheels.

We are currently testing Jet brand dust collectors and are considering offering them on this site.  In the mean time we offer an alternative to the Jet brand.  Check out our available line of woodworking dust collectors, or call us toll-free today!

General Information...

How is a JET dust collector different?

Jet makes relatively small, portable dust collectors for small wood shops.  JET dust collectors can provide both ambient and source capture of chips, wood dust and tiny airborne dust contaminants that will otherwise become permanently lodged in lung tissue.  Jet dust collectors are designed for convenience in a small shop atmosphere.  Most Jet dust collectors have wheeled bases and can easily roll from workstation to workstation.  A few jet dust collector units can hook up to two or three workstations at one time, but are most effective when used for one station only.

How do I know if a JET dust collector is right for my workshop?

If you do woodworking and only have a few workstations going at once, a JET dust collector may be right for you.  If you are working out of a workshop in your home garage or may have your own small to medium sized workshop and have sawdust building up, a shop-vac will not be efficient to clean the air.  All saws, sanders planers and lathes create airborne dust too small to see.  You will only see it once it settles on the walls and surfaces of your shop.  These particles are too small for your body to filter out and when inhaled, will become permanently lodged in your lung tissue.  This is the most common breathing problem caused by regular woodworking and has a simple solution.

If you are looking for your first Jet dust collector, an ambient air cleaner such as an electrostatic precipitator alone will not solve your problem.  Ambient air filters create an air flow pattern where dust filled air is continuously swirling around until it is pulled through the unit.  If you let it run, eventually the air will be cleaned, but by then, you have already been standing there breathing dusty air.  Your first dust collector should use a canister or bag filter to suck up the majority of dust before it gets into your breathing air.  An ambient air cleaner should only be run when you are finished working and no one is standing there breathing the air.

If you need something larger or more powerful than a Jet dust collector we have other portable dust collectors available.  Also, for a total shop solution, see our dust collection systems or  call us and we'll point you in the right direction.
