Installation

The ELECTRO-FILTER™ fits right in where your existing 1 inch filter is or a 1 inch filter track can be installed by a local Heating and Cooling contractor for about $50-$90. Each ELECTRO-FILTER™ furnace filter system comes complete with one plug in adapter and stripped wire w/ plug that can be hard-wired to existing 24v terminal.

1. Turn off power to the air handler

2. Remove the existing filter.
   If plugging unit in with supplied adapter, skip to step #7

3. All forced-air systems have an internal 24 volt AC power source to which this electronic Air Cleaner may be connected without overloading other circuits. If you choose to hard-wire your ELECTRO-FILTER™, you must identify the 24 volt AC power source and connect the supplied plug and lead wire.

4. After locating the 24 VAC power supply, connect the leads of the power cord as per our electrical wiring diagram.

5. Alternatively, you may choose to use a 110/24 VAC plug in adaptor. This adaptor is included, simple plug it into the unit and then into any 110v outlet.

6. All electrical work should be performed by a qualified electrician.

7. Slide the ELECTRO-FILTER™ Air Cleaner into the filter slot and plug the power cord into the power head.

8. Turn the power on the air handler.

9. The power indicator-light located on the power head should come on. (red light)

10. If arcing occurs in the Air Cleaner, make sure that the electrode pole is inserted into the plastic tubing sleeve in the filter pad. New filters may arc for the first few minutes if they have humidity trapped in them. Any buzzing or popping sounds should cease within a few minutes as the air passes through the filter pad.

Periodical Maintenance

Your collector cushion pad should last from two(2) to four(4) months, depending on dust and particle levels. For maximum effectiveness of the ELECTRO-FILTER™ Air Cleaner, we recommend that the fan control on the thermostat is set to "ON" or have it put on a timer to run in cycles.

To replace filter pad Just unplug the air cleaner, slide it out and replace the center media pad. No messy cleaning process, no expensive new filter to buy, your entire system will run more efficiently. Replacing the pad takes only a couple of minutes generally, three or four times a year depending on the air quality where you live.

tip: unplug the ELECTRO-FILTER™ cord and vacuum contaminates to extend filter life!

1. Turn off the power on the air handler.

2. Open the air handler filter access door.

3. Unplug the 24 volts power-cord from power head.

4. Remove the Electronic Air Cleaner.

5. Clean heavy accumulated dust with a vacuum on the outside screen.

6. Open the air Cleaner and remove the old Collector

7. Cushion Pad and discard it into a garbage bag.

8. Replace with a new collector cushion pad by sliding the electrode into the color tubing inside the cushion.

9. Close the air cleaner and plug the 24 volts power cord into the power head.

10. Restore the air handler power.

11. You may hear some snap, crack noise at the beginning... this is normal because of variation in humidity and temperature, this noise should cease after a few minutes of operation. If the arcing noise persists, check to make sure the electrode pole is inserted into the sleeve of filter pad tubing.
