Do In-Duct Air Purifiers have a warrantee?
1. Are In-Duct Air Purifiers compatible with an electrostatic air filter already installed? In-Duct Air Purifiers are OK for use with virtually all filters you might have on your ventilating system. The performance of an in-duct air purification system will not be affected by an electrostatic air filter. 2. How long does the
UV bulb last in an In-Duct Air Purifier? What is the replacement cost? Is it easy to do?Approximately 15 months of continuous use or 9,000 hours is the typical bulb
life. Today cost less than$36 for most In-Duct Air Purifiers units. Yes you can do the replacement process yourself. 3. Are In-Duct Air Purifiers large units? Will they fit in my ductwork? In-Duct Air Purifiers compare in size to a portable phone. The bulb’s size ranges from 6-12 inches. The Biozone In-Duct Air Purifier A1500 is compatible with the smallest ductwork. 4. Do In-Duct Air Purifiers have a fan? Is that how they purify the air?
In-Duct Air Purifiers utilize the fan or air exchange unit in your existing HVAC system. This reduces operating cost since it doesn’t contain a fan. When contaminants enter your HVAC system and pass over the In-Duct Air Purifier’s
UV lamp, they are destroyed. Air coming from your HVAC system will have low levels of negative ions and ozone. These will oxidize airborne particulates, eliminate odors, and break down other unhealthy fumes and organic contaminants. 5. After I have installed an In-Duct Air Purifier will I still have to have my ducts cleaned? In-Duct Air Purifier kills bacteria, mold, and mildew the primary reasons why people have their ductwork cleaned. During the cold and flu season, you should see a noticeable difference with years past. Non-oxidized dust and other particulate matter will settle in your ducts. Don’t worry. Because of the
photo ionization process this particulate matter will not be as likely to become airborne. 6. Do Biozone In-Duct Air Purifier contain filters? No. The In-Duct Air Purifier kills potentially harmful organic contaminants. Electrically charged particles such as dust and smoke are destroyed not filtered by the In-Duct Air Purifier. 7. What are the In-Duct Air Purifier advantages? How does it compare with a portable (countertop) air purifier? The In-Duct Air Purifier uses the existing ductwork of your house or office building. All indoor spaces using that system are purified. The portable Air Purifier are sized to defined room areas and purifies air around the radius of the unit. In order for air to be purified with the unit's germicidal
UV light it has to actually enter the air purifying unit. This works OK but the In-Duct Air Purifier is a more comprehensive solution. The In-Duct Air Purifier adds back the negative ions that air conditioning removes from the air and introduces other undesirable elements to the cooled air. The In-Duct Air Purifier insures a uniform distribution of ion and ozone throughout the area served by the HVAC system. Think of it-no dust. The system works without fail to insure a healthy environment. It is easy to install! 8. How does an In-Duct Air Purifier work? The In-Duct Air Purifier employs the same exceptional
air purifier technology as other air purifiers in the Biozone Scientific line. For example, a patented, high-purity UV lamp produces low-level photolic ozone, negative ions, and purifying hydroxyls. Germs, viruses, bacteria, and molds and mildews that may be found in the ductwork are killed by the
UV light. 9. How easy is it to install an In-Duct Air Purifier? Do I need a professional HVAC firm?To get the In-Duct Air Purifier installed correctly the first time, we suggest using an HVAC professional. The process is easy and usually takes less than 30 minutes per unit. If you are a competent do-it-yourselfer: drill a hole in the ducting about the size of a silver dollar coin-- insert the lamp in the hole-- attach the black transformer box to the duct with the two sheet metal screws-- hard wire it to the blower motor directly (recommended) or plug it into a 110 wall socket.

the In-Duct Air Purifier UV lamp is still working after it is installed? The In-Duct Air Purifier has a light rod that allows you to test whether the UV bulb is functioning. The UV lamp should be replaced annually for best operating performance.
12. Do In-Duct Air Purifiers have a warrantee?
