Volatile Organic Compounds ( VOCs ) are found in everything from household products, paints , varnishes and wax even many cleaning, disinfecting, cosmetic, degreasing and hobby products. All these products can release organic compounds wile you are using them or even when they are stored. VOC's have been found to be major contributing factors to ozone, a common air pollutant that has been proven to be a public health hazard.

The main difference between the IQair GCX VOC and its less powerful sibling the IQair GC VOC is, that the GCX contains 25 lbs. of gas phase media while the GC series contains 12 lbs. In addition, the GCX Series features larger pre- and post-particle filters. As a result the maximum air delivery of the GCX is about 20% more than that of the GC.  All this translates to the IQair GCX VOC is designed to purify a larger area, up to 1200 sq. ft. compared to the IQair GC's 900 sq. ft.
