The Lighthouse HANDHELD 3016 Airborne Laser Particle Counter
sensitivity range is large enough to accurately detect mold spores and still
detect particles as small as 0.3 microns.
The most exceptional aspect of the Lighthouse Handheld 3016 particulate
monitor is the brain. Take a versatile handheld particle counter
capable of six simultaneous particle size channels, cumulative/ differential
counting, temperature/relative humidity with a powerful removable
rechargeable lithium-ion battery and run the whole thing from a touch-screen
computer. The interface is so easy, you can pick it up and figure out
how to use it in minutes. Unlike some VCRs, you can easily program
more functions than you will ever need.
The hardware is far beyond any other handheld
particulate monitors out there. The interface is large, easy to read
and even backlit. Just tap where it says "zoom" to get a large view of
your data while it counts. The well thought out handle makes it easy
to hold in one hand while you take samples. Like most advanced
personal digital devices, it runs on a removable, rechargeable battery or
regular AC. Connect to your PC, printer or other equipment with a
standard RJ-45 cable.

The Lighthouse Handheld model number 3016
portable airborne particle counter like the other handheld systems offered
by Lighthouse has the exact same interface as the portable SOLAIR monitors.
The interface is as advanced as a laser particle counter should be, yet as
easy to use as a toy. Lighthouse has taken these products to a whole
new level never seen by competitive air monitors by combining airborne
monitoring technology with video game technology. When combining the
two products, they have also taken a fresh look at the hardware.
The
Handheld line of particle counters has borrowed smart concepts and values
from today's consumer electronics. You can pick up any cell phone and
immediately figure out how to add a phone number for someone named John
Smith. With the particle counter, you can see the main menu and
navigate to where you enter custom names for locations, such as "CLEANHOOD_01".
To make it easy, the interface is similar to windows you use on any personal
computer. With a digital camera, you can walk around using the battery
for hours. Then switch out a fresh battery or plug it in to charge.
The same is true for the Handheld particle counters. The lithium ion
battery is just like a camera battery. When it runs out, grab a fresh
battery from the charger, or plug the unit into the wall. Also, like a
camera, take as many samples as you like up to 3000 and download them at
your leisure. One step better than a camera is the cord to connect to
your PC. With cameras, they use that unique little USB wire adapter
that you better not loose. The Lighthouse Handheld counters use a
standard serial port and come with a serial to USB adaptor cord.
Like
any computer peripheral, load the software driver onto any Windows machine,
and you are good to go. For more advanced facility management systems,
there is a standard RJ-45 port that uses regular network cable. The
overall fit and finish of the handheld series is very well done. They
feel solid and look very impressive.
