How to Sample for Mold Testing

"Follow These Easy Instructions to Take a Mold Sample..."

  1. Lightly TOUCH the sticky side of the TAPE strip TO THE TEST SURFACE and then remove. The tape should show a visible deposit, but should not appear “overloaded”. (If a sample is too heavy or has large particles, it can be difficult to read under the microscope and should be repeated.)

  2. PLACE the TAPE SAMPLE ONTO THE PLASTIC SLIDE attached to the MAIL-BACK TEST CARD (align it with bottom drawing).

  3. LABEL the TAPE with the sample number using a ball point pen.

  4. RECORD the ROOM AND ITEM SAMPLED on the corresponding lines to the left of the slide.

  5. REPEAT steps 1-4 for OTHER sample test LOCATIONS (option of 1, 2 or 3 tests per kit).

  6. PLACE the MAIL-BACK TEST CARD in the self-addressed envelope and drop it in the MAIL.

  7. RECEIVE your written RESULTS along with an INFORMATION BOOKLET describing how to clean up and prevent mold growth.
