How do you prevent humidity from drifting through and damaging floors,
walls, ceilings and the roof of your building?
Pressurize the building
with dehumidified air. The Ultra-Aire Air Purifying Dehumidifier 100V
installs into the existing HVAC system. A certain amount of
fresh air from outside is sucked in, dehumidified and pushed into the living areas. This
creates positive pressure that forces an equal amount of drier indoor air to escape from the
building. This ventilation approach, supplied by
the Ultra-Aire APD system, inhibits humid outdoor air from entering the
building and provides healthy ventilation. The
Ultra-Aire APD has been installed into many
American Lung Association
Health Houses.
The Ultra-Aire APD 100V ensures constant influx
of filtered, humidity controlled fresh air. Indoor air mixes with fresh air
and recirculates through the system to maintain fresh, filtered indoor air
with a relative humidity below 50%.
Fresh Air Ventilation...
Outside air is brought to the dehumidifier by
means of a 6" round
duct. This makes fresh air changes to dilute indoor air pollutants and
sustain high oxygen content in the air. The amount of fresh air ventilation can be
automatically or manually controlled.
Airborne Particle Filtration...
Incoming air passes through the filter section.
The stock media filter is 30% efficient (ASHRAE
Dust spot test). This 30% filter is a step up from your average furnace
filter. An optional 95% efficient (ASHRAE
Dust spot test) pleated media filter is available. 95% Dust Spot means
this filter is much more effective than an average furnace filter.
When using the optional 95% Dust Spot filter, the stock 30% media is used as
a prefilter. These filters will prolong the life of your equipment by
keeping it clean of dust and particles.
Low Electricity Bill...
Traditional dehumidifiers use evaporator and
condenser coils, like what you find in a refrigerator, to cool the airstream
below its dewpoint, forcing water to condense like a cold drink on a hot,
humid day. Therma-Stor dehumidifiers use a clever way of routing the
airflow past itself and past the hot end of the coils. Pre-cooling the
air flow and making use of excess heat improves efficiency of the
dehumidification process by 200%.
Furthermore, running a dehumidifier in addition
to an air conditioner takes some of the load off the air conditioner.
Dehumidifying the air actually removes what is called latent heat.
Without effecting air temperature, heat is removed from the air. Your
air conditioner would normally have to remove this latent heat in order to
lower air temperature. In other words, moisture in the air retains
heat. Once moisture is removed, the air conditioner has an easier job.
Features of Ultra-Aire Dehumidifier...
TheTherma-Stor Ultra-Aire APD 100V dehumidifier is controlled by a 24 volt remote
mounted control panel.
The stock control has a fan switch that enables uninterrupted air filtration
and fresh intake independent of dehumidification. The control also has a dehumidistat
that ranges from 20% - 80% plus absolute "on" and "off"
settings that override the dehumidistat. If you upgrade to the optional Ultra-Aire control
panel, you get a programmable digital control that
automatically triggers a motorized damper to provide intervals of fresh air.
- The unit is provided with 6" (fresh air)
and 8" (indoor air) inlet collars. The conditioned air exits the
dehumidifier via an 8"
round duct.
- Condensed water is gravity drained from the
dehumidifier by a 6 foot vinyl hose.
- The dehumidifier is powered by a factory installed
10
foot power cord; 115 volt with ground.
