Smokeeters come in a range of sizes and
configurations. There are two kinds of smokeeter filters, either electronic,
which use an electrostatic cell to collect the smoke particles, or media
based, such as HEPA. A good way to choose the right smokeeter is to
first decide how it will be installed - flush in the ceiling, hanging from
the ceiling or wall, or hidden above the ceiling. Next look at the
size of the area where your smoke is. Size of the contaminated area will dictate
how powerful and how many smokeeters you need. Every
air cleaner is rated by how many cubic feet of air it can
filter in one minute (or CFM). The most effective way
to eliminate smoke is to create an airflow patter. The air may sweep
across your smoking section, circle around the bar, or suck up smoke from
the middle of the room and blow fresh air down the walls (COANDA air flow).
