This manual 40 pint dehumidifier by WC Wood is a work-horse and will easily handle an area up to 1000 square feet.

Place the WMD40WE WC woods dehumidifier in an enclosed area that has high levels of humidity and dampness.  This gem of a dehumidifier is ideal for keeping mildew and moisture from forming on stored items in a basement, on tiles and grout in a bathroom or a laundry room.

Don't take a chance during the summer months when the humidity is at its highest.  Moisture in the air is the number one cause for dry-rot.  The moisture in the air will eventually settle on any wooded area like window sills and will start to to accumulate and do its damage.

How to empty the collected moisture from the air.
The collection bucket is located near the front of the WMD40WE dehumidifier for easy access.  The bucket slides forward and is easy to take hold of and has an easy pour design. Your W.C. Wood's WMD40WE has an indicator light that will turn on when the bucket is full and it is time for pouring out.

Other features include radial dial manual controls, a two-speed fan, an air filter that is washable. Integrated handle and casters for portability.

For Best results the dehumidifier must be operated in an enclosed area in order to be most effective. Close all doors and windows and other outside openings to the room. Be sure that it is placed so there is no restriction to air flow.

Allow at least 12 inches of air space on the front and back. A dehumidifier operating in a basement will have little or no effect in drying an adjacent enclosed storage area such as a closet unless there is adequate circulation of air in and out of the area. It may be necessary to install a second dehumidifier inside the enclosed storage area for satisfactory drying action.

Air Filter
A washable air filter has been placed at the front of the dehumidifier for easy access. This filter must be checked on a regular basis to make sure it is clean. A dirt-congested filter will block the air flow and reduce the efficiency of the dehumidifier. To access the filter, remove the water reservoir and pull the filter down and out by the pull-tab located at the bottom of the filter. Remove the filter material from the plastic frame and gently wash in a mild solution of household detergent. Rinse, and thoroughly pat dry with a cloth. Inspect the filter for holes and replace if necessary. Place the clean filter into the frame and insert the filter and frame into the dehumidifier.

Low-temp mode
When the room temperature falls below 59°F for more than 10 minutes, the dehumidifier will automatically enter ‘Low-Temp’ mode. During Low-Temp mode, the fan will keep running with the selected  speed. The compressor will turn on and off. The control will reset to normal operation when the room temperature rises to 64°F (18°C) or higher for 10 minutes.
